Randeep Hooda ‘thanks’ unidentified people who shot Sarabjit Singh’s killer: ‘Karma catches up with him’ | Audio news

Following the death of Amir Sarfaraz – the main character in the killing of Sarabjit Singh in Lahore’s Kot Lakhpat Jail in 2013 – who was reportedly killed in Lahore, actor Randeep Hooda, ‘thanked’ the unknown people responsible for shooting Amir. Randeep, who was recently seen in Swatantra Veer Savarkar, played Sarabjit in Omung Kumar’s biopic Sarbjit in 2016. The biopic also stars Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Richa Chadha and Darshan Kumar. Reacting to the news of Amir aka Tamba – an underworld celebrity from Pakistan – getting shot, Randeep, took to X (formerly Twitter), and wrote, “KARMA. Thank you unknown men (sic)” with a folded arms emoji.

The actor shared a screenshot of the news on his account and tweeted, “Remembering my sister Dalbir Kaur and sending love to Swapandeep Poonam, today some justice has been given to martyr Sarabjit Singh.” Amir is said to have been attacked by motorcycle-riding assailants at his residence in Lahore. He succumbed to the injury and died.

For those who don’t know, Sarabjit Singh, a resident of Punjab, inadvertently crossed the border into Pakistan while working in his fields. He was accused of being involved in the bombings in Punjab province in Pakistan in 1990 and sentenced to death.

Speaking to IANS, Randeep shared, “While we were making Sarabjit’s biopic it was always a sad feeling that when things were about to bring him back to India and bring him home to his family he was killed in prison,” said the actor. He further added, “Hearing about his attacker being killed, I wonder what Dalbir ji (Sarabjit’s sister) would have felt. I am sure it would have been a sense of justice after fighting for him for years. The actor, who attended the last rites of Dalbir Kaur who died in 2022, added, “Karma catches up even if it’s through unknown men.”

Festive offer

Sarabjit, who was sentenced to death by the Supreme Court of Pakistan in 1991, spent two decades in prison on charges of terrorism and espionage before he was eventually executed.
