Automotive industry: Chery “Made in Algeria” next October

The car manufacturing plant of the Chery brand will start production next October, announced yesterday in Algiers, the manager of the Auto Leader Company (ALC), the representative of the Chinese brand in Algeria.

Answering the questions of journalists during the press conference organized on the side of the presentation of the 2nd edition of the National Exhibition of the Automotive Industry and its Equipment to be held in Constantine from May 6 to 10, Director of Communications, Khamsa Boutitaou. , announced that the Chery car production plant in Algeria will go into production next October.

The factory will start, in the first phase, with integration, before proceeding with actual production, as suggested by the Algerian authorities, he noted, noting that the construction work of this factory has reached a satisfactory level of development.

For his part, the general manager of Chery in the African region, Hu Chun, who was present at this event, told APS that the factory project is progressing quickly and well, confirming that Chery will start producing its cars in Algeria.

Mr. Chun also said that the brand’s management would like the plant to start production before October, if the conditions are right, adding that the project will be launched in October on a large scale, with a production capacity of 50,000 vehicles per year to be reached.
