Avoid the Used 2013 Audi Q5 for These 2 Better SUVs, According to Consumer Reports

Consumers in the market for a sport utility vehicle may want to reconsider the 2013 Audi Q5 and opt for two of its competitors, according to a recent report from Consumer Reports.

The publication’s comprehensive testing of the Audi Q5, along with eight other SUVs, revealed that the 2013 model was outperformed by two of its competitors in the same mid-size SUV category.

Consumer Reports found that the 2013 Audi Q5 was outpaced by the Hyundai Santa Fe and the Volkswagen Tiguan. The report cited the Audi Q5’s “less-than-stellar” suspension, “subpar” fuel economy and a “noisy” interior as primary factors in its lower overall score.

The Hyundai Santa Fe, which earned an overall score of 84, was praised for its “plush ride,” “good fuel economy” and “high-quality” interior. The VW Tiguan, which earned an overall score of 86, was lauded for its “quiet cabin,” “nimble handling” and “usable back seat.”

The Audi Q5, with an overall score of 78, was criticized for its “stiff suspension,” “mediocre fuel economy” and “loud engine and wind noise.”

Consumer Reports concluded that those in the market for a mid-size SUV should forgo the 2013 Audi Q5, and instead consider the Hyundai Santa Fe and the Volkswagen Tiguan, both of which offer superior performance and overall value.
