NJust before the one-month deadline passes, the state of Brandenburg wants to submit the missing documents for the complaint against the court’s decision on the protest camp against the American car manufacturer Tesla in Grünheide. “The parliamentary authority will submit the reasons for the complaint against the decision of the administrative court to the Supreme Administrative Court of Berlin-Brandenburg in due course,” an Interior Ministry spokesman said on Thursday. The deadline is Friday.

The spokesperson explained that they did not want to discuss the content of the legalization due to the ongoing process. The appeal is directed against the decision of the administrative court in Potsdam. This had received police restrictions for the protest camp on the edge of the Tesla factory. The court justified the decision by saying that the demand was not sufficiently proven and that the protection of the demonstration was not sufficiently considered. Among other things, the police had asked the activists to demolish the tree houses for security reasons.

The administrative court had accepted the emergency plea of the forest dwellers against the conditions imposed. This means that the protest camp can initially remain in the state forest near Tesla and several tree houses.

Against the backdrop of the protest camp, there has recently been conflict within Brandenburg’s governing coalition. The Ministry of the Interior had warned about the dangers that could arise from old weapons and forest fires, while the Ministry of Environment did not see any danger in this regard. Interior Minister Michael Stübgen (CDU) called on Environment Minister Axel Vogel (Greens) to have the risk of explosive ammunition clarified. The Ministry of Environment does not share these concerns.
