This provides unquestionable accuracy and security for vehicle access and also opens the door to the development of more connected vehicle applications.

“The automotive industry has been working for decades to make driving more comfortable through digital technology. But unlocking the full potential of digital key and accessibility technologies requires an interoperable and secure standard,” said Alysia Johnson, President of CCC. As an organization dedicated to global development, we remain steadfast in our commitment to create this standard and are delighted that we were able to work together in Germany, a center of innovation and excellence.”

“We believe that vehicle-to-device access will soon be the standard that consumers expect. To achieve this, we must be able to provide a seamless user experience and ensure safety,” emphasized Dirk Hassert, development expert at Mercedes-Benz AG. “Work of connecting UWB and BLE that has been done here in Ulm and will continue as part of many more members ensures that we can add value to users and provide a complete, secure implementation. We are pleased with the progress we have made in the past week and look forward to our continued progress.”
