A big recall is going on at Kia!

Do you own a Kia Sportage? Be careful, because a major recall campaign is currently being organized by the Korean manufacturer. We tell you everything!

Recall campaigns are very common among manufacturers, even the most reliable ones like Kia.

Some minor problems from Kia

If the company is indeed famous for being immune from breakdowns, it is nevertheless not perfect and can sometimes be affected by minor technical problems. And precisely, this is the case at the moment, and especially on one of its star models. But what is the reason? This is a problem connected to the digital instrument cluster, which affects its Sportage and which has only been discovered by the Korean manufacturer. But not all SUV models are affected, as they are those produced in 2022 and 2023, as well as 2023 Kia Niro who are affected by this phenomenon, which can be very disabling for owners. Indeed, cars experience problems with the dashboard light due to the instability of the electrical voltage when starting the car. Although the car can continue to drive “normally”, the lack of access to basic information, such as speed, can pose a risk to the driver.

An easy problem to fix

Therefore, and to correct this defect, Kia has launched two recalls. The first software update, referred to under code 230S15, concerns Sportages (CE models e42018/85800079* followed by 00, 01 or 02). The second, with code 231025, concerns the Niro (CE type e92018/85811241*00), but only hybrid and plug-in variants. In general, no less 27,657 cars will have to return to the workshop to carry out these updates, including 1,807 copies in France. An operation that fortunately will be fully supported by the manufacturer, which means that customers will have nothing to pay. On the other hand, we do not know how long the operation will last, but there is no doubt that it will be very fast. This type of procedure generally takes no more than half an hour, and does not require very invasive steps on the vehicle. Customers will in any case be notified by their dealer or by the manufacturer.

If you are concerned, go to a garage as soon as possible to fix the problem.
