With 210,408 motorcycles delivered to customers, BMW Motorrad achieved the best sales result in its company history in 2024. Germany remains BMW Motorrad’s largest market.
In Europe alone, BMW achieved more than half of its sales in 2024 with 118,727 motorcycles. Germany remained the strongest European market with a satisfactory increase of more than 8% compared to the previous year with 26,177 units, followed by France (20,693), Italy (16,617) and Spain (13,009). The Swiss market is very small with 3197 BMWs sold.
Worldwide, the United States (17,272) is no more important for BMW than Brazil (15,267), and the major markets of China (13,872) and India (8,301) made a significant contribution to BMW Motorrad’s record results.
BMW sold 68,000 of the three GS icons R1300GS, R1300GS Adventure and R1250GS alone in 2024;
More distribution in the model series: BMW sold 40,890 F models with inline two-cylinder engines (F800GS, F900GS, F900GS Adventure, F900R and F900XR) last year. 22,339 buyers chose the F model with a single-cylinder engine (G310GS, G310R and G310RR). BMW also sold more than 20,000 of its four scooters (two with 400 cc, two with electric drive).
Sales of 11,610 BMW S1000RR motorcycles don’t look too bad. Along with the three BMW Motorrad M models, 27,148 models with powerful four-cylinder engines were produced worldwide.
“Our sales record in 2024 is clear evidence of the strong global appeal of the BMW Motorrad brand and the appeal of our product range,” says sales manager Stephan Reiff. “With many new, innovative designs and products, we at BMW Motorrad will do everything we can to further expand our leadership position in the world’s best motorcycle segment in 2025.
