Cupra’s Dark Rebel concept car is about to become a reality – News and Highlights

Futuristic lines mixed with plays of light, changing colors, advanced solutions and 3D printing for creating elements, the concept of Giza Rebel catches the eye at the Milan Design Week.
To present it to the general public, all employees of the Iberian sports brand of the VW group arrived in Milan: Wayne Griffiths, CEO of Cupra as well as of Seat, Sven Schuwirth, director of operations of the young brand and Pierantonio Vianello, who. is responsible for ‘Italy.
The first two did not make any statements but Vianello, when interviewed by Ansa, made it clear that Dark Rebel is not a simple exercise in style and that, in addition to being a declaration of the Maker’s future intentions, it is definitely something more. “When we presented the Formentor concept for the first time – he said – then we were able to marvel at the complete similarity in the sellers. We did the same with Tavascan which after the summer will be present in our garages in such a way that he perfectly remembers the concept. We are used to it,” he emphasized in response to a question about the future of the Dark Rebel.
At the same time, the provocative show car, created with the contribution of 270,000 suggestions from the Internet, can be found in the display case in Piazza XXV Aprile for the entire period of the Fuorisalone. As a work of art, it catches the eye of many passers-by, just a few meters from the Iberian company’s Corso Como sales point and the underground Galleria Garibaldi, where fans of the VW group brand can immerse themselves in exciting virtual reality experiences.
“We wanted to officially participate in the Milan Design Week with the Rebels of Darkness – explains Vianello – which presents all the innovations of Cupra, not only in design but also in technology, in materials and in new color techniques for the car”.
Regarding the brand’s prospects, he adds: “This year we will launch four completely new models. We are moving towards an expansion of the range that is compatible with the large investments that the group has allowed us to make and that we are also making in other brands: an example is Raval, which will allow us to democratize electrification and which we will also produce in Spain with other brands of the VW group.”
About Italy, Vianello recalled: “Last year we closed with + 50% in sales compared to the previous year. In 2024 we are preparing the launch of new models and there will be a good surprise for Italy”.
