BMW he has taken the covers off the new M3 CSsportsman who goes to keep himself on the famous M3 Racing. A model that will be produced in a limited series from March 2023 and which aims to entertain the lucky ones who will have the opportunity to drive it. Prices for the Italian market have not yet been announced.
DESIGN AND INTERIOR AFFAIRS
The most important feature of all models of the German manufacturer that can be proud of the CS (Competition Sport) mark is weight reduction. The automaker suggests it’s done extensive use of carbon fiber components outside and inside. For example, in addition to the carbon fiber roof, the new BMW M3 CS also uses this material for the bonnet, front splitter, front air intake, exterior mirror covers, rear diffuser and rear spoiler.
The titanium rear silencer, on the other hand, reduces the weight of the exhaust system by more than 4 kg. Carbon fiber inserts are also present in the cockpit. For example, steering wheel paddles were made of this material. The result is a weight saving of around 20 kg compared to the BMW M3 Competition and M xDrive. The dry weight of the car is 1,765 kg.
Regarding the design, the BMW M3 CS can be identified by some special details. For example, forward we get BMW’s shapeless kidney grille which recalls racing cars. This sports car can also rely on a series of special aerodynamic attachments as well as M glass exterior covers and exposed carbon fiber roof surfaces. In addition, the sports car features BMW Laserlight yellow headlights inspired by the M4 GT3.
We also get a level 19-inch front and 20-inch rear alloy wheels and special tires made for this model in size 275/35 ZR19 at the front and 285/30 ZR20 at the back. The BMW M3 CS can be ordered in a variety of colors including the exclusive Frozen Solid White metallic color. Signal Green, Brooklyn Gray metallic and Sapphire Black metallic are also available as alternative exterior colors.
As for the interior, we get it M carbon seats standard and special design of this model. The seats are upholstered in Merino leather in a black/red color combination with contrasting stitching. This is an increase of 30 kW/40 hp compared to the BMW M3 Competition. This increase in power was achieved through a series of changes to the turbo pressure (from 1.7 to 2.1 bar) and engine power. The unit always includes an 8-speed automatic transmission M Steptronic. The sports car can also rely on M xDrive all-wheel drive and the M differential applied to the rear axle.
BMW explains that the driver can switch from the default 4WD setting to 4WD Sport mode, which directs a greater percentage of the engine’s torque to the rear wheels. Speaking of performance, acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h takes 3.4 seconds. On the other hand, it takes 11.1 seconds to reach 200 km/h.
