Cheap Tesla killer from the first brand to the Netherlands

Fisker, have you heard of it? Maybe not, but remember the name of this Tesla competitor well. The American EV manufacturer is bringing an affordable electric car to the Dutch market with a good model: the Fisker Pear.

Fisker may seem new to you, but it has been around in a different form since 2007. The company, founded by Henrik Fisker, was known for its Fisker Karma, an attractive hybrid that is still part of Leonardo di Caprio’s fleet. The movie star even invested in a fledgling American car brand, but Fisker Automotive went bankrupt anyway.

Possible 560 kilometers of range

Now not one, but two companies have risen from the dead: Karma and Fisker. Today we talk about the latter, because the new premium brand Fisker is making great progress as an EV manufacturer. It is known that Bahari, a stylish premium SUV, is coming to our country. But perhaps even more interesting is the inexpensive and friendly Fisker Pear.

With a length of 4.5 meters, the Pear can be compared in size to the BMW X1, which will soon be part of the new police fleet. The Pear is available with two different battery packs, good for WLTP range estimates of 320 and 560 km. Well, WLTP estimates are of course somewhat questionable, so we’re curious about the final figures.

Fisker Pear Price

The Pear is offered as a rear-wheel and four-wheel drive and, according to Fisker, accelerates from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in 6.8 seconds. The brand is also talking about a version with better performance: Fisker Pear Extreme. First we want to know about the common Pear.

The model will come to the Netherlands as a Sea, that is clear, but now we can also give an indication of the price. The manufacturer has just announced that the Fisker Pear will cost $29,900. If replaced, that would mean less than 27,500 euros. And that is to say, dirt cheap.

EV Subsidy for Fisker Pear

You may wonder how we Europeans benefit from this. Car prices in the US market can vary greatly from the price tags we get from the dealer. That’s true, but that only applies to cars with combustion engines.

For example, the entry-level version of the Tesla Model Y costs $47,740 in the United States. The same model here starts at 46,990 euros, which gives us hope that the Fisker Pear’s price tag will remain below 30,000 euros. As a Pear customer you can also claim this subsidy of thousands of euros.

Alternative electric car from Volkswagen

At that price, Fisker Pear can compete with all Chinese EV manufacturers and Volkswagen, which will soon launch an electric car for less than 25,000 euros. You can see more about the car in the video below.
