What kind of voice then? Opening and closing the glove compartment? Skin upholstery swelling? No, Jaguar wants to preserve the sound of one particular engine for future generations.

What does the British Library collection consist of? There are too many to mention, but you can find original handwritten notes by the Beatles, a Dracula manuscript signed by Bram Stoker and letters from Winston Churchill, Charles Darwin and Abraham Lincoln.

There is also a sound log, in which Jaguar has recorded the sound of the engine of one of its models. This is the 5.0 liter supercharged V8 of the F-Type R 75 Coupé.

Jaguar will soon be a fully electric brand. The F-Type is not only Jaguar’s last sports car, but also the last with eight cylinders.

That’s why Jaguar has recorded the impressive sound of the V8, from outside the car and inside. These are 30 and 47 second recordings, which de F-Type accelerates hard and upshifts rarely.

Be more natural for years

The R 75 Coupé is a four-wheel drive and has a power of 575 hp and 700 Nm of torque. It goes to 100 km / h in 3.7 seconds and only stops accelerating at a maximum speed of 300 km / h.

When the F-Type was launched in 2013, the sound – from the six and eight cylinders – was overproduced, Jaguar admits, with all sorts of artificial bangs and sounds. Engineers have refined it over the years, so now it looks more natural.

Only three versions of the F-Type are still available in the Netherlands: the 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 300 hp, and the V8 5.0-liter with 450 hp and the aforementioned 575 hp eight-cylinder. The sports car is available as a coupe and convertible.
