Hennessey 850-HP Cadillac Escalade-V Finally Goes into Production

Important takeaways

  • Hennessey announces the start of production of the H850 Escalade-V.

  • Only 100 units of the high-performance SUV will be produced.

  • The supercharged 6.2-liter V8 develops 850 horsepower/855 lb-ft of torque.

Hennessey Performance has begun production of the H850 Escalade-V. Based on Cadillac’s high-performance SUV, the H850 is limited to 100 units and boasts impressive horsepower and torque figures – Hennessey boosts the supercharged 6.2-liter V8 from 682 hp and 653 lb-ft of torque to 850 ft- lb and 850 lb5hp.

This, says the company, makes the H850 one of the fastest and most capable SUVs money can buy. The engine has several upgrades, including a supercharger, special camshaft, new air intake system, intakes, exhaust valves, high-flow cylinder heads, and an improved throttle body. Finally, the supercharged V8 receives an HPE engine management overhaul.

Sports Car Performance The Whole Family Can Enjoy

Already a strong performer, the upgrade has resulted in impressive performance from the H850 Escalade-V. Challenged by the Ram TRX, the luxury SUV leaves the high-powered sedan trailing behind, leaving a two-car gap between it and the TRX. We’re sure the H850 Escalade-V can hold its own against performance SUVs like the Mercedes-AMG GLS 63 and BMW X5 M — in a straight line, at least.

Hennessey’s next supercar will be electric, but instead, it will be the expected conventional supercar, which goes back to the moon.

Hennessey also offers an H1000 package that produces 1,005 hp and 882 lb-ft if the H850 seems too sluggish. Hennessey Performance has yet to release performance data, but, as a reminder, the regular Escalade-V sprints to 60 mph in 4.4 seconds before reaching a top speed of 125 mph. We’re not sure how fast you want to go in an SUV, but the limits can be lifted.

Pricey, But Worth It

As for the price, the H850 package costs $29,950. Add in the cost of a new Escalade-V ($154,290), and you’re looking at spending at least $184,240. The price includes a three-year/36,000-mile warranty for added peace of mind. 22-inch Hennessey Performance wheels, finished in black or silver, can be added at an additional cost. All models receive an engine bay with a serial number and correct badge to distinguish the H850 from smaller Escalade models. That’s where the cosmetic changes end. If you want a more aggressive look, Larte Design offers a sporty body kit for Cadillac’s full-size SUV.

“High-performance SUVs are one of my favorite types of driving – their sleepiness is a stark contrast to their supercar-like performance! Our 850-horsepower version of the Escalade-V brings a lot of performance to this ultimate luxury – size SUV, making GM’s supercharged engine We’re only making 100 of these H850 models, so they’re sure to be unique.
