The last Bugatti Chiron has been auctioned for a record sum

The money spent on car auctions is getting worse and worse. A Subaru from McRae for four tons, a special SLR for three million, if nothing. The Bugatti Chiron Profilée will not change this, because the last Chiron – and also the last Bugatti with the W16 – has been auctioned for 9,792,500 euros. This is the highest amount ever paid for a new car at auction.

What can you expect for almost ten million? Well, a special edition Chiron, because having a “normal” hypercar isn’t special enough. But Profilée is more than a few other colors and decorative pieces. The plan was to build a smaller version of the refined Chiron Pur Sport. Indeed, that was the plan – only because this original production model saw the light of day. The one-off Bugatti Chiron Profilee is approved for use on public roads.

The last Bugatti Chiron is unique

Demand for other versions of the Chiron was so great that plans for a series of Profiles were shelved. This is related to the 500 car construction limit that Bugatti has set for itself. This profile is actually number 501. It is also distinguished by its rear wing, modified splitter and large air intake. Not enough? The Argent Atlantique color is used only on this Profilee.

The last Bugatti Chiron to be pre-auctioned is the 1,500 hp Chiron Pur Sport. Its gear changes happen faster, with better acceleration. Just what your classic Chiron needed. The 0-100 time is now 2.3 seconds and the 0-200 time is 5.5 seconds. Acceleration to 300 km / h takes a total of 12.4 seconds and the maximum speed is 380 km / h.

Regardless of its unique equipment, its one-of-a-kind status or the fact that it is the very last Chiron, it remains the astonishing amount that a Bugatti Chiron Profilée has been auctioned for. We will mention the number again: 9,792,500 euros. No, we haven’t fully received it yet. But with Chiron we can call it more than a fitting end.
