Expected to go into production later this year, the Bugatti Bolide is entering its final testing phase, with a renowned driver on board. Andy Wallace, official driver of the French manufacturer, will take control to ensure that this car achieves unprecedented performance.

Andy Wallace, Bugatti test driver, is well known for his past in motorsport. He joined the very exclusive club of drivers who have won the Triple Crown, namely: 24 Hours of Le Mans, 24 Hours of Daytona and 12 Hours of Sebring.. With his experience in the endurance championship, he was chosen by Bugatti to develop his next model, the Bugatti Bolide.

And his history with the manufacturer is not new since he became the Official Driver in 2011, after retiring from motorsport. A way for him to rediscover the feelings he got, in competition, behind the wheel of racing cars. He will contribute to the reputation of the brand in 2019, by breaking the speed record for a production car, reaching 482 kilometers per hour in the Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+.

Amazing statistics

So the new Bugatti model seems to be approaching its production phase, scheduled for the end of 2024. So the legendary driver is motivated for the final test sessions, during which he will distribute the full power of the car on the circuit. As a reminder, the French manufacturer will release 40 examples of this track-preserved car and all have already been sold at a price of around 3.7 million euros.. So the Bugatti Bolide will be the last model, with the Mistral, to highlight the W16 legend. The French manufacturer recently unveiled a new V16 that it will use in its upcoming models.

And this monster of the circuit shows statistics that match its expectations, and the power of the closer 1,600 horsepower and 1,600 Nm torque. Using competitive fuel, it can even reach 1,800 horsepower! All for a curb weight of just 1,450 kg and an aerodynamic force of almost 3,000 kg at high speed. And to slow down such a beast, it has the largest carbon brake system ever made by Brembo. According to simulations carried out by the manufacturer in 2021, it can beat the lap record at the famous Le Mans circuit.
