The first Volvo FH in the new corporate identity for Verkeersschool Blom

BREDA – Blom Traffic School has put a new modern Volvo FH 4×2 training truck into use. It is the first Blom subject truck to be designed in a refreshed corporate identity. The truck was supplied by Volvo Trucks dealer Bluekens Truck and Bus Breda.

The Volvo FH rigid is used for driver training C and driver training Code 95, says Reggy Heijens, director of Verkeersschool Blom. The Volvo FH 420 Globetrotter is specially designed as a training truck.

Blom’s latest addition has double the controls and offers room for four people. Two additional passenger seats are placed where the bed normally is.

Heijens: “That was our wish clearly. Especially in the case of more training courses, it is important if you can sit in the cabin with several people so that you can learn and learn from each other.

New writing and lines

The Volvo FH training truck was put together in collaboration with Bluekens Truck and Bus, Hertoghs Carrosserieën and Reclamebeesten.nl. Heijens is very satisfied with the end result.

“We recently refreshed our corporate identity. The Volvo FH is the first training truck to feature new lettering and lines. With our latest acquisition, we can once again guide many candidates on their way to obtaining a serious driver’s license. This is also a great calling card for the Code 95 driver training courses, which we offer to professional drivers in partnership with Bluekens Truck and Bus. More training is now more practice oriented than ever before their training in a modern truck. This Volvo FH is equipped with the latest options. For example, we chose the Visibility Plus package, which includes a camera with an invisible part in the mirror, LED lights and adjustable and heated exterior mirrors. This truck also has more safety systems.”

Fast switching with short lines

Traffic School Blom has had Volvo trucks in its fleet for many years. “The collaboration with Bluekens is very interesting,” says Heijens. “There are many things in common between both companies. We both have roots in West Brabant, we are both regular family businesses and we both like to respond quickly and have short lines. We also jointly organize the annual Driver’s Day, where drivers they can follow theory and practical training which is considered towards Rule 95.

Blom Traffic School was founded on September 1, 1968. Blom now has 55 employees and 35 training vehicles, fourteen of which are trucks. Blom offers driving lessons from mopeds to trucks. Blom also offers a variety of Code 95 driver training and technical training for specific types of transport, such as ADR, LHV and livestock transport. Blom has branches in Etten-Leur, Breda and Tilburg.
