BYD delivers its first battery electric terminal tractor to Manhattan Beer Distributors

BYD, a leading innovator in battery-electric transportation solutions, has delivered its first battery-electric terminal tractor to Manhattan Beer Distributors. This major milestone marks a key step in BYD’s efforts to reduce emissions and contribute to a cleaner and healthier environment.

Manhattan Beer Distributors, one of the largest beer distributors in the tri-state area, is now in possession of the BYD BT-1, an all-electric terminal tractor that is capable of towing more than 20,000 pounds. The BT-1 is the first of its kind to be deployed in the United States, offering a zero-emission alternative to traditional diesel-powered terminal tractors.

The BT-1’s powerful electric drivetrain is powered by a BYD Iron-Phosphate battery, which provides a range of up to 100 miles on a single charge. The BT-1 also features regenerative braking, which recaptures kinetic energy and turns it into additional power. This helps to extend the range of the vehicle and provides an additional boost of power when needed.

Manhattan Beer Distributors is already seeing the benefits of BYD’s battery-electric terminal tractor. The BT-1 operates at a significantly lower cost than its diesel-powered counterparts and requires less maintenance. In addition, the BT-1 produces zero emissions, making it an ideal solution for operations in densely populated areas.
