BrightDrop Delivers First Electric Vans to Ryder for Rental Fleet


BrightDropowned by General Motorsis rolling out its Zevo 600 electric car across the country, with the latest batch going for four. Ryder facilities in California, Texas and New York, the company announced in a news release.

Earlier this year, Ryder announced plans to introduce 4,000 BrightDrop EVs to its fleet by 2025, and the first 200 have been ordered this year.

The BrightDrop Zevo 600 electric vehicle boasts a range of 250 miles, a payload of 1,460 to 2,450 pounds, and a cargo capacity of 615 cubic feet.

“Commercial electric power systems can reduce emissions without sacrificing range, safety or performance. By adding BrightDrop EVs to its fleet offerings, Ryder is helping to enable electrification for companies large and small,” he said. Steve HornyakCOO of BrightDrop.

To introduce these new EVs to the Ryder fleet, Ryder hosted “Ride & Drive” events for customers showcasing the pickup trucks, as well as EV chargers. ChargePointRyder said in his news release.

BrightDrop Zevo 600 electric cars are now available for rent at Ryder locations in Santa Fe Springs and Hayward, CA, Saginaw, TX, and Long Island City, NY.
