BYD: Expansion in Europe – new details are known

If you order an electric car today, you should expect waiting times of up to a year. The Chinese car manufacturer BYD sees this as an opportunity for expansion: in the future, three electric cars will be on the roads of Europe – including in Germany. Now the Chinese are coming out with pre-sale prices.

“Europe is the cradle of the automotive industry and has a strong spirit of innovation,” BYD Chairman Wang Chuanfu said. The group wants to offer three types of electric vehicles in Norway, Sweden, Denmark, the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg and Germany. France and the UK will join before the end of the year.

An entry-level model is the Atto 3. This is a compact SUV that was developed specifically for European customers. It should cost 38,000 euros. The second example is the Han EV. BYD describes it as a “smooth and elegant sedan” – of course electrically powered. Third in the league is the seven-seater Tang EV SUV. It is already on the market in Norway. The price of both models is 72,000 euros each.

Prices may vary in different markets. The manufacturer’s suggested retail price will be announced at the Paris Motor Show October 17-23.

BYD regularly opens new markets and has more models in the pipeline. The electric car manufacturer is in the top position. From a technical point of view, however, the paper has struck again. Brave put his foot in the door at the current rate, everyone else is waiting below.
