BYD is challenging Tesla with the new Seal U electric car


Two batteries, 71.8 or 87 kWh and power up to 217 kW. Byd has chosen Milan Design Week 2024 to present its new electric SUV, the Seal U. At the Autotorino showroom in Piazza Duomo the latest model from the Ocean Series showed off its high-end design. But it’s not just appearance. Performance is not bad either: from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.8 seconds. The challenge of Tesla Model Y is launched.

FEATURES

The battery ensures the right time for longer journeys, and the freedom of up to 700 km for one payment. 4.78 meters long, 1.89 meters wide and 1.668 meters long, new Seal U is based on the same platform as the Seal sedan and is powered by a permanent magnet synchronous motor coupled to a lower axle for 218 CV e 310 Nm o 330 Nm of the couple.

IT FALLS INTO THE STIMULATORS

Prices start from 42.890 eurosbut if we are not considering putting it on the road, the Byd U Seal is in the category motivation which includes discounts from 3 thousand to 5 thousand euros, depending on whether the used car is removed or not. There are two configurations: Comfort e Design. The Comfort is already well-equipped: full LED headlights, electrically operated tailgate, 19” alloy wheels, tinted rear windows, heated steering wheel, air-conditioned front seats, zone climate control two, 12.3′ digital instruments ‘, 12.8’ ‘ rotating central monitor, audio assistant, 360° cameras, adaptive cruise control, active lane control, emergency brake, V2L protocol, heat pump and 11 kW charger on the board.


ON THE RANGE

The highest version, no Designwhich starts out 45.890 euros, also offers dynamic welcome lights, rain-sensing front wipers, multi-colour interior lighting, PM 2.5 air purification, 15.6-inch rotating central monitor, head-up display and dual wireless smartphone charger. The Comfort version recharges up to a maximum of 115 kW currently live, while the Design version in the live stream accepts up to 140 kW. Curiosity about batteries: they are guaranteed up to 8 years, or 200 thousand kilometers, with a capacity of up to 70%.
