The electric Range Rover is now coming and is already undergoing extensive testing

A new electric Range Rover is on the way. The first prototypes are already running, and you can order the car later this year.

Jaguar Land Rover was quick to release the Jaguar iPace, but after that it was quiet. With the electric Range Rover, the most luxurious car the brand makes is also offered as an EV. Of course there are many electric SUVs sold in the upper segment, but still none that can go off-road. Mercedes Benz will later introduce the G-Wagon.

Prototypes are now running in the Middle East in temperatures over 50ºC and above the Arctic Circle in the cold -40ºC. But you don’t have to feel sorry for the test drivers, because Range Rover promises that the Electric will be the most refined Range Rover ever.

Electric car better

The battery and electric drivetrain are assembled by JLR itself. Production will also take place in the UK in an area where hybrids are already being built. Range Rover wants to be completely CO2-free by 2039 and building the battery packs in Wolverhampton is therefore important for the brand to reduce transport emissions.

Thanks to the new power train, the traction control system has become even better. Conventional ABS unit-based traction control requires 100 milliseconds, this new system only 1 millisecond. This can save you dirty pants if you go off-roading with your Range Rover. In addition, your ABS system needs to be activated less often, which gives you the impression that off-road driving is very easy. The new Range Rover Electric will offer the same power as the Range Rover V8. You can order it at the end of this year, deliveries are expected to start in 2025.
