Chinese doctor, Leclerc: “Red Bull is the favorite, but Ferrari can be faster than Suzuka”

Ferrari is aiming big, strong and knowing his own ways. He said that Charles Leclerc. On the eve of the weekend at the track, the Monegasque announced in a press conference, as reported by Ansa: “I think we will be close to Red Bull in the race, but let’s see. It’s been a long time since we ran here.”

Then he explained, as reported by Ansa: “I saw that the track has been repainted… But above all we will have to see how the car will have big obstacles in the race. But on paper we should be close to them.”

Red Bull seems to remain favourites. Leclerc added: “The confidence level has been solid since the start of the season and this is a track where we can be stronger than Suzuka, but we will approach the weekend in the same way. I think Red Bull will still be ahead, but we will have to focus on ourselves. It will not be easy, as we saw in Suzuka qualifying, with a small mistake you can put yourself in danger of starting far from the top positions. And it will be important this weekend as there will be two qualifying sessions to extract the maximum from the car. Then, regarding the race, I think we are very strong this year.”

Considering the best race of Carlos Sainz, Leclerc agreed: “He was stronger in the last two races – and continue – it’s up to me to work, especially in the qualifying phase, which is usually a tough stage.”

Sainz himself will not race for Ferrari next year. And he is looking for a new team. And he noted: “I can say that I have spoken with all the teams but there is still no direction, all positions are open. Indeed – he explained, as reported by Ansa I don’t want to spend a year like this but I also aim to find a solution that allows me to win.” And he explained himself regret of leaving Ferrari just when “the project is starting to bear fruit.
