CARROS Magazine – Jaguar F-Pace SVR: the ultimate sinner

It’s the ultimate Jaguar F-Pace SVR, which draws its power from a delicious supercharged 5.0-liter V8. Without any form of electricity, this iconic motorcycle is (unfortunately) a dying breed. But it can and can be done once more. Enjoy the roar of the eight cylinders and the sounds of the compressor one more time. Sin once more, before we fill the future with silence.

The combination of its elegant British looks and hidden violence make this F-Pace a very desirable car. Well, the big air intakes at the front, the opening in the hood where the V8 is trying so hard to release its heat and the two rear exhausts indicate that there is something special under the hood. Jaguar remains a respectable appearance, which you can drive to the most luxurious opera without any problems. And only experts know what the letters ‘SVR’ on the grille stand for: the most powerful and fastest Jaguar F-Pace ever built. Creation of the so-called Special Vehicle Operations, a separate department within the Jaguar/Land Rover group. From their Technical Center in Warwickshire, two hundred technical experts are involved in developing extreme and special editions. This F-Pace SVR definitely proves that they know what they are doing there.

Violence

It starts with a cold. The V8 lets you know briefly but clearly that it means business. To increase the temperature of several liters of oil, we first drive the car calmly in Comfort mode. Even in this case, the car has a stiffer suspension than the regular F-Pace, but it still offers enough comfort. The V8 bubbles quietly in the background and you have time and peace to gaze at the beautiful interior. Great bucket seats that are not only comfortable, but also keep you in your place very well. A beautiful combination of Alcantara and leather and everything is finished to a very high standard. The infotainment system is housed in a large central touchscreen on the dashboard. Delete the menu structure and it’s easy to work. We have yet to see more sophisticated systems. The Meridian sound system is excellent, but to be honest we rarely turned it on: the best sound comes from the V8.
