70 years of Subaru: A reason to celebrate at the Schneider car dealership too

Hütschenhausen/Palatinate. Subaru cars have been on the road for 70 years. Seven decades ago, the brand presented its first car model: the mid-range Subaru P-1. Many other examples have followed to this day. The Schneider car dealership in Hütschenhausen has been accompanying this development since 1981 and is a reliable partner as a contractual partner of Subaru. The Japanese car company will be celebrating a whole series of anniversaries in 2024.

70 years ago: Subaru P-1 is introduced

At the beginning of the anniversary is the presentation of the middle model Subaru P-1 in 1954. Seven months after the start of Subaru as the automotive division of the technology group Fuji Heavy Industries Ltd. (FHI), Japanese automakers presented the mid-size five- to six-seater model Subaru P-1. Later it was called Subaru 1500.

60 years ago: A test and experiment site opened

In 1964 – very early in the history of cars – Subaru opened a testing ground with a long circuit of 1.6 kilometers in Gunma, Japan. This made it possible to make more reliable and safer cars. The automaker also tested the Subaru 1000 at this test site, which followed the pioneering Subaru P-1/1500 in 1966 as a mass-produced successor.

40 years ago: all-wheel drive models

In 1984, the Justy series of four-wheel drive models, the E10 and the L-Series came to market. Three- and five-door subcompact cars from Subaru, a subcompact and three mid-range sedans, station wagons and coupes rolling down the road.
