With only two models, the Stingray ZL-1 ranks among the rarest and most valuable cars in the world. The Chevy Corvette needs no introduction, because one of the two copies will be auctioned again. That alone is reason enough to check out this unique tank.

The C3 generation of Corvette was released for a very short time with an upgrade package called: RPO ZL-1. This upgrade kit doubled the price of the already very expensive base model. There were only two buyers who chose Stringray’s ZL-1 upgrade and judging by that they are very happy with it.

A good investment

Because there are only two copies equipped with such upgrades, the price of the two four-wheeled motorcycles went up. The Stingray ZL-1 is one of the most sought after Corvettes in history and it will soon go under the hammer again.

The upgraded Stingray eventually produced 560 hp. The CanAm aluminum racing bike is handcrafted and completely street legal. The modification resulted in a whole series of improved internal parts in the power source. Think better connecting rods, new crankshaft and pistons, larger exhaust valves and increased camshafts. These features made the aluminum block V8 the most powerful Chevrolet engine ever made. The article going under the hammer was fully restored to all obsolete parts in 2014.
