Can the Chevrolet Corvette cope with the crossings and dirt climbs to the limit of the impossible? The answer is yes, but with some important modifications. The project is being carried out by a Chevy C5 owner in the US, who has converted his sports car into an off-roader, capable of going places a sports car never can.
In modifying the car, the owner raised the suspension and installed a set of new 33-inch knobby wheels. The fenders were cut to accommodate the new tires, which are now coming off the bodywork. To prove the real capability of the ‘Vette’ with a passion for dirt roads, with a car climbing unpaved slopes and crossings without hesitation, some videos have also been published on YouTube. The C5 was not the first work of a sui generis Corvette enthusiast, who a few years ago had also made similar changes to the model’s previous generation model. On the other hand, no changes were made to the engine, which remains the 5.7 liter, 345 HP V8. The ‘off-road’ C5 is now on sale in the Market.
