Chevrolet Silverado ZR2 Bison 2023: features, design, engine

The Bison version of the Silverado was developed in collaboration with the off-road experts at AEV.

To say that off-road versions are all the rage in the world of pickups and SUVs is an understatement; It’s crazy, literally, as more and more deals hit the market.

The last one is a full size image Silverado and Chevrolet. Last year, a version was presented to us ZR2 prototype and now the Bison variant is about to start. We have been waiting for it for a while and now it is unfolding before our eyes.

If the names sound familiar to you, that is to be expected, because these combinations were first introduced by the most difficult image in the family, Colorado.

The Bison version of the Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 has been released since 2019.

And like the Colorado version, the Bison version of the Silverado was developed in collaboration with the off-road specialists at American Expedition Vehicles (AEV).

In fact, the Bison version of the ZR2 will look like more capable off-roader and will be placed on the leadership.

And what else does this model, based on the ZR2 version, offer? Well, it adds five skid plates and rock panels.

More than that, replaces the front and rear bumpers with forged steel units including footplates and towing hooks. Operations required a redesign of the units, of course.

Moreover, i 18-inch gloss black wheels they fit 33-inch Goodyear Wrangler Territory MT tires. New bumpers allow greater approach and departure angles. Exact figures aren’t available, but Chevrolet estimates 32.5 degrees in the front and 23.4 degrees in the rear. Ground clearance remains unchanged at 11.2 inches.

In addition to the unique black wheels, this version of the Bison is distinguished by a body-colored grille and a matte black panel on the tailgate.

Note that the Multi-Flex version of the tailgate is standard. There are also Bison and AEV logos, inside and out.

Engine

Mechanically, like the ZR2 version, the Bison ZR2 is powered by the company’s only 6.2-liter V8, which develops 420 horsepower and 460 torque. Power is sent to the wheels through a 10-speed automatic transmission.

The front and rear differentials are electrically locked.
