Police are looking for a black Ford Puma with broken windows after the theft of coins by a gold dealer

GARDEREN – Two people stole one kilogram of gold from a coin and gold dealer on Speulderweg in Garderen. They left in a black Ford Puma with broken windows. Do you think you know these thieves?

The affected businessman has a home office. At the beginning of February he received a customer who was very interested in buying gold, but in the end he only bought a tenner of gold. This may have been a preliminary investigation. A week later, on February 13, two customers visited the business for an appointment. They took a box of money from the bag and said they would like to buy gold. The merchant showed them 150 grams of gold. The two paid on the spot with cash from their money box. They asked if there was any more gold in stock and they said they had enough money with it. The merchant then showed one kilogram of gold and made it clear that this cannot be paid for in cash. One of the customers took the gold and put it in a money box, which disappeared under the table in a bag. When the merchant asked for the gold back, they put another box on the table. However, this turned out to be not a box with gold, but a different box; it was lit under the table. The two ran away and the victim realized he was being robbed, grabbed a baseball bat and chased after them. The two got into a Ford Puma. The seller hit the windshield and driver’s side window with a baseball bat to try to stop the suspects. But the suspects managed to escape. They drove towards the A1 highway.

Symbolic elements

Suspect 1 had long blond hair, possibly a wig. This man is 50 years old, 1.80 meters tall, has a good figure and a very low voice. It is not known if this person was a man or a woman.

Suspect 2 is a man between 60 and 65 years old. He is very short and stocky and speaks Dutch with a German accent.

A week before the robbery, the businessman received a customer who may have been involved in the plot. This may have been a preliminary investigation.
