BYD Ocean-M will be an important electric car for the future

BYD announced via Weibo that it would like to present the Ocean-M concept at Auto China 2024 this week. This electric car uses a new platform designed exclusively for fully electric models.

It will be a “hatchback” in the style of the VW ID.3 and the first performance model of its kind with rear-wheel drive. Although that is not entirely true, because Volkswagen presented it. BYD has not yet revealed whether a dual-motor version will come later.

Ocean-M is not only important for growth as a new electric car, and this model of BYD also wants to show the further development of the design language at auto shows in China, which we will see more often in the future.

I’m definitely all for this type of car and I’m excited to see what the details of this new platform from BYD are. Sooner or later models will come to our market, even if it takes time.
