The new Dacia Spring is the cheapest electric car on the market


The Romanians have published the prices of the new Dacia Spring edition on the first European markets. Today, it is known that this car, despite the influx of Chinese brands, remains the cheapest electric car on the Old Continent.

The new Dacia Spring is actually very much based on its predecessor. This is confirmed by the identical wheelbase of 242.3 cm and very similar external dimensions. Body length is now 370.1 cm, about 2 cm less than the outgoing model.

Most importantly, the volume of the trunk of the new Dacia Spring has increased by 6% – up to 308 liters in the front, the so-called drunk. The 35 liters of space it provides will be perfect, for example, for charging cables.

New Dacia Spring: how much does it cost?

During its market premiere in 2021, Dacia Spring cost more than PLN 80,000. The car stood out with a unique look, a small towing battery and… lots of cheap solutions (You can read more about it HERE).

Since then, Romania has sold 140,000 units of its first electric car in Europe. The new Dacia Spring, which, above all, has a more attractive design – inside and inside the cabin – is expected to attract more customers.

To date, the car has received prices including: on the German market, where it starts at EUR 16,900 (approx. PLN 72,500) – this is the price of the cheapest difference, 45 Important. The 45 Expression variant is 1,000 euros (approx. PLN 4,300) more expensive, while the 65 Expression version costs 18,900 euros (approx. PLN 81,100).

At the top of the range is the 65 Extreme version, which costs EUR 19,990, or about PLN 86,000. Spring orders will be accepted from April 16, and the car, made in China, should reach its first customers this summer.

In contrast, one of the basic Dacia Duster, which costs from PLN 79,900 in Poland, is worth more than PLN 81,000 in Germany. It is therefore expected that Spring prices on the Polish market will be similar.

Two engine versions

The new Dacia Spring comes in two types of training. The most powerful one develops 65 HP and accelerates the Romanian car from 0 to 100 km / h in less than 14 seconds, on the other hand, the weak one produces 45 HP and accelerates to a three-digit speed with the first gear in gear. forward by about 19 seconds.

Spring has kept a traction battery with a capacity of 26.8 kWh, which is enough to cover a distance of 220 km (according to WLPT). It will take 45 minutes to charge from 20 to 80%. But only if the customer requests the optional possibility of charging the battery with direct current and a power of up to 30 kW.

As usual, the car is equipped with an on-board charger with a power of 7 kW, which, using a wall box, will allow you to charge the traction battery for about 4 hours. On the other hand, from the power outlet – less than 11 hours (20 -100%).

The 65 horsepower spring is described by Romanians as a model intended for the urban area. The weak goes to town. Interestingly, the body of this car covered only 37 km per day at an average speed of… 37 km/h. In addition, in 75% of cases it was charged at home (You can read HERE what determines upload speed).

New Dacia Spring: accessories

Customers opting for the base Core and Display variants will not receive a 10-inch touchscreen multimedia system as standard equipment. Digital clocks (7-inch display) and software that allows Spring to connect to smartphones are standard. The infotainment kit is standard in the more expensive Extreme variant, while in the Expression it requires an additional fee (HERE you can read how to pair your smartphone with your car).

Every new Dacia spring will be equipped, among others: three-spoke steering wheel with height adjustment, joystick for radio control, power steering, cruise control and speed limiter, central locking with remote, front windows electric, rear parking sensors and 12V socket.

The basic version will also receive a sound set with two speakers, Bluetooth and a USB port, as well as many driver assistance systems. These include automatic emergency braking, road sign recognition, lane departure warning, and driver attention monitoring.
