Chery, the new Chinese attack in Europe

The Chinese group Chery has decided to launch its first models in Europe this year and even set up a factory there..

So Chery Automobile will launch SUVs from three different brands in Europe over the next two years. Realizing that a base in the old continent greatly facilitates access to an increasingly defensive market, Chery will build a factory there. Let’s immediately point out that its regional director has removed the establishment in France. The latest talk by our Minister of Finance, Bruno Le Maire, is certainly not happening in Eastern countries. Italy and Spain remained in the running, and appear to be the last country to be selected. The production unit should be near Barcelona.

Chery is still far from the Chinese market leaders, BYD and Geely, but very close to its rivals Xpeng and Nio which have already started their arrival in Europe. The obvious importance of continuing to exist as competition increases in the country and national growth slows down.

Chery, the most amazing!

In addition to Chery in its own name, we should therefore see the Omoda and Jaecoo brands arrive in all major European markets, including Germany, the UK, Spain, Italy and France.

By the end of 2025, the company will launch three SUV models for each brand, as well as a mix of fully electric, hybrid and internal combustion vehicles to cater to different markets. Sales of electric vehicles are higher, for example, in Western European countries than in southern markets.

Among the expected models, the 100% electric Exlantix holds the lead. Before judging its style, you should know that it is its technical platform that was chosen by Huawei for its first models. So we are in a very good situation.

Later this year, Chery will launch its Omada 5 crossover, recently awarded a five-star Euro NCAP rating. Its price? From 30,000 euros!
