Chrysler presents the Halcyon concept, a vision of the brand’s future

Last week, we brought you the first image of a new electric car concept in a news article about this purpose. Today, Chrysler is lifting the curtain on this concept, and we’re taking advantage of this news to tell you about it in more detail. He prints the name Concept Chrysler Halcyon and its mission is to present the future of the brand.

An overview of the brand’s future

The main mission of Chrysler’s Halcyon concept is to present the future with several technologies that we will find in the brand’s next vehicles in the near future. From this lot, we get to unlock and start the car thanks to the facial biometric recognition system. Added to this is inductive charging of batteries on the road. Chrysler also mentions that this technology is currently being tested and developed.

The Halcyon concept also offers a new vision of “Stow ‘n Go” seating. Currently, this system allows the seats to be folded into the floor of the van. However, in the current concept of the electric car, the rear seats move back into the trunk area to create additional space.

Additionally, the interior of the Chrysler Halcyon concept uses 95 percent durable materials. Additionally, we’re told in a press release that Chrysler logos are made from old music CDs that have been crushed and recycled. These are things we may see on a large scale in production cars soon.

Driving freely under supervision

As with several concepts presented in the automotive industry, the Chrysler Halcyon concept features distinct features for level 4 autonomous driving. We also see the presence of a reinforced windshield. Lock mode is also shown to allow passengers to drop off at the reception area and allow the car to park itself. Of course, the features listed in this paragraph may take several years to arrive in production vehicles.

Not today’s example

If you were one of those who were hoping for a new product that would join Chrysler’s small car duo, you’ll be disappointed to learn that it won’t be. Indeed, during the press conference, some journalists questioned the benefit of presenting the concept of the future, when the range of the American manufacturer has been greatly reduced. The manufacturer then defended itself by noting that several features present in the Halcyon concept will soon make their way to production vehicles. In addition, it was mentioned that van sales were very profitable for the brand in 2023.

The Chrysler Halcyon concept was originally scheduled to be presented at CES 2024, but when Stellantis made the decision to pull out of the show, the opportunity to present the concept was postponed until today.

As for Chrysler, the next new product expected to start production will be a new electric SUV planned for around 2025. The manufacturer, however, has not disclosed additional information to this effect.
