Chrysler Airflow EV, a concept car that anticipates the electronic future of the American brand

Chrysler invents the Halcyon EV: it is a concept that replaces the impressive Airflow, an SUV, while the guest is a very low electric sedan, with a nose just four inches off the ground. The front and rear doors open a full 90 degrees, revealing a spacious interior without a B-pillar. To facilitate entry, the roof panels open like a gull’s wing, creating something more like a car from the 1980s than a futuristic concept. . Then there is a trunk hidden under a flat glass with a smooth frame on the sides.

It is built on the platform of Stellantis’Stla the Great

Underneath Halcyon’s body suit is the platform of Stellantis Stla the Great. This is the same configuration that the new Dodge Charger Daytona EV will use, and there are other notable connections. Chrysler says the Halcyon uses an 800-volt architecture, which is also expected from the high-performance Dodge Charger. The bodywork includes many aerodynamic elements, including a large passage at the front where air is directed through the grille and over the bonnet. This is another feature of the Charger Daytona, which is interesting considering that Dodge is scheduled to debut on March 5.

Available for level 4 driving autonomy

Chrysler says the Halcyon is capable of Level 4 autonomous driving, characterized by a steering wheel and pedal arrangement that can be fully retracted, allowing the driver to be just a passenger during the journey. To do this, there is a stargazing mode that changes the transparency of the glasses and reclines the chair so you can look at them. There’s a large, clear, pillar-to-pillar screen up front with an upgraded full-screen head-up display that can provide information to occupants, whether they’re driving or just passing through. Powering everything is an as-yet-unknown powerful lithium-sulfur battery.

Artificial intelligence to personalize driving

Chrysler talks about the Halcyon’s heavy use of artificial intelligence for a customizable driving experience, where the car greets you with a special display of lights and sounds as you approach. It then prepares for the drive, taking into account everything from the weather to the daily calendar connected to the car. Chrysler’s vision for Halcyon is one where car and driver have a personal connection. Biometric scanners recognize you and, once inside, the car plays soothing sounds and sets whatever you prefer. The sound is then projected onto the car’s screens, creating an impressive audio visual experience.

And when you reach your destination, the car gives you all kinds of special greetings with more sounds and more lights.
