Meeting needs as closely as possible: the heart of Ami for All

There is not just one “Ami for all”, but many “Ami for all”. Working with Citroën, Pimas has adapted a number of solutions to better meet the needs of customers, according to their disabilities. Thanks to the design that takes into account the needs of people with limited mobility, it offers a number of functions:

  • Unparalleled access: The door hinge angle has been increased to 90° to allow customers to position their wheelchair parallel to the edge of the cab when the driver’s door is opened. A removable, sliding tray then folds down to allow the wheelchair to be moved independently into the passenger compartment. Using a strap attached to the top of the interior door frame, the customer transfers from the wheelchair to the driver’s seat. This operation takes only a few minutes.
  • Personal storage solutions: There are two ways to transport a wheelchair. It can be placed in the passenger compartment, using the large storage area in front of the passenger in the Citroën Ami. The driver then removes the wheels from the wheelchair and secures them to the footwell using specially designed straps. Wheels fit perfectly in this storage room. A folded wheelchair is placed in the passenger seat. It is fastened there with an additional belt of a special seat. These settings allow the disabled driver to travel independently.
  • In the case of the presence of passengers, the wheelchair can be easily placed in the dedicated space behind the “Ami for All” using an aluminum carrier. The wheelchair will need to be placed by the passenger, which will be covered with a protective tarp. In this way, the passenger compartment remains completely free. Ami for All Users stop relying on other people’s company and become their companions on daily trips and social gatherings.
  • Ease of driving: After boarding and preparing to drive, the driver has a ball on the steering wheel, which makes it easy to hold and allows you to use the best handling of “Ami for All”. In place of the usual pedals for the 6 kW electric motor, an intuitive mechanical lever for manual speed control and brake pedals, which can be pressed or pulled, have been added. Please note that the pedals remain functional.
