Like other BYDs, the Seal U also has Lithium Iron Phosphate batteries using proprietary blade battery technology: cheaper and safer because they don’t generate heat if burned. Also standard on Seal U is a highly efficient heat pump which, in addition to heating the passenger compartment, serves to bring the battery to the best temperature for use and is ideal from -30 ° to +60 ° .

In the Comfort version the battery is 71.8 kWh and is 420 km of freedom in the WLTP combined cycle, while in the Design version the blade battery is 87 kWh and the company claims 500 kilometers of autonomy. The first can be charged with direct current from 115 kW and takes 27 minutes to go from 30 to 80% while the second reaches 140 kW of power and takes more or less the same time. For both there is 218 hp of power and 310 Nm or 330 Nm of maximum torque available depending on the version. Of note is the treatment associated with warrantyBYD offers 6 years or 150,000 km on the vehicle, 8 years/200,000 km on the battery and 8 years/150,000 km on the engine.
The BYD Seal U can already be ordered, it will arrive at dealers in the second quarter of this year and the starting price of Comfort is 42.890 euros, which also makes it eligible to take advantage of incentives (since they are calculated without including VAT and road placement). The Design Edition starts from 45,890 euros.
