Thanks to the 48V Hybrid technology, driving times in mixed electric or 100% emission-free mode are improved, for greater driving comfort and reduced fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.

This lightweight and compact hybrid technology is based on a 1.2 PureTech gasoline engine of a new generation, designed specifically for hybrids, the characteristics of which are 3 cylinders with 1199 cm3, power of 136 HP (100 kW) at 5500 rpm and a torque of 230 Nm at 1750 rpm. Compliant with the Euro 6.4 standard and operating according to the Miller cycle, the engine has improved fuel efficiency to reduce CO2 emissions.

A permanent magnet synchronous electric motorcapable of developing peak power of 21 kW (28 hp) with a maximum torque of 55 Nm. It allows the C5 Aircross to be driven 100% in electric mode with low torque requirements, at low speeds, during driving or when decelerating and assisting the gasoline engine during start-up. When decelerating, it acts as a battery charge generator, reducing brake wear.

A belt-driven starter motor, powered by 48V, allows the gasoline engine to start quickly and responsively. A new ë-DCS6 power box, 6-speed dual clutch, without breaking torque, also designed specifically for hybrid technology. Gear steps are shorter and the ride is more comfortable. The electric motor, inverter and control unit are combined to increase the space under the engine hood.

A 48V Li-ion battery with a sufficient capacity of 432 Wh, it is placed under the left front seat, so as not to affect the space in the boot or passenger compartment. In addition, thanks to the voltage converter, the part of the electricity produced by the 48 V electric motor is converted to 12 V to power the vehicle’s equipment, thus providing two different electrical networks.
