Dacia Sandero also in electric version

Dacia Sandero also in electric version

This was announced at the Geneva Motor Show by Dacia CEO Denis Le Vot. When is the premiere? Most likely in 2027 or 2028.

The Sandero is Dacia’s best-selling car. With sales of 235,839 units in 2023, the small hatchback was also number 2 in all of Europe (Dataforce data), second only to the Tesla Model Y. The Sandero range must include an electric version. All the more so because the popularity of electric cars is expected to increase in the next few years, and the only electric car in the brand is the Dacia Spring, which debuts in a new version at the Geneva show.

“The next generation Sandero will be a big car,” Le Vot told Automotive New Europe. He added that the hatchback benefits from Groupe Renault’s development work on small electric vehicles, including the Renault 5 launched in Geneva and the upcoming Renault 4 small SUV.

This means that the third generation of Sandero will share the CMF-B EV platform, named Ampr Small, with the car from Renault 5, which, although it debuted at the current Geneva show, will not go on sale until next year.

There are two sizes of lithium-ion batteries in the Renault 5. The smaller one has a capacity of 40 kWh, which ensures a range of up to 300 km, and the larger one has 52 kWh and a range of up to 400 km. The electric car will be available in three power levels: 95 HP (215 Nm), 120 HP (225 Nm) and 150 HP (245 Nm).

Sandero was in TOP 2 in sales to private customers on the Polish market and in third place in segment B. In 2023, 5,159 units were registered, of which 77%. it was a Sandero Stepway. More than half of Sandero’s customers are private customers who often chose the Stepway Expression version with the ECO-G 100 engine.
