IMSA – WTRAndretti’s second Acura is decked out in red with a new sponsor

The first is black and blue, the second is black … and red. This Tuesday, the introduction of the second Acura ARX-06 run by Wayne Taylor Racing and Andretti (WTRA) was unveiled by one of its drivers, Jordan Taylor, son of Wayne Taylor. Unlike its sister car, No. 40 will wear red and welcome a new sponsor: DEX Imaging.

By doubling its forces in 2024 with a second Acura, WTRAndretti will try to secure a title it has not won since 2017 in the premier category of IMSA. Their campaign will start at the 24 Hours of Daytona (January 27-28) with a shock four: Jordan Taylor and Louis Deletraz, drivers throughout the season, will be accompanied by Colton Herta and Jenson Button for the opening round, in Florida.

“This year is a completely different year for our team, as we have always run only one car. We have always wanted to run two and now we have the opportunity to do soexclaims Wayne Taylor, owner of the stable. Everyone is very happy in the team, because now we can compete with big teams with two cars. We just have to do the best job possible to do everything we have to do. I’m really happy with the people we’ve hired and the people we’ve had for a while – everyone seems motivated. With a two-car factory plan, you’re competing with everyone. I’m looking forward to Daytona. ยป

Last year, WTRandretti finished second in the LMDh main event at Daytona, behind Meyer Shank Racing. A few weeks later, controversy erupted after it was revealed that the winning team’s tire pressure had been cheated, without the list being changed.
