Trouble in Audi, forced to remember: this model has a big problem

Even an important brand with high sales like Audi can find itself in an unpleasant situation. The brand has a recall problem.

Remembering for example: maybe one of the most dreaded inconveniences and Western car manufacturers who, when they end up in the spotlight of Rapex or NHTSA, have no choice but to carry out an expensive and necessary payment of the car, which will inevitably have to replace certain components free of charge. There are so many cases, it’s pointless to list them, and no brand seems to be without occasional problems…

This time it was the turn of the Audi brand, a famous German company that recently took another step in the direction of one hundred percent electrical mobility even putting the historic Coupè TT out of production without even a successor. The Teutonic brand has a serious safety problem with some models or at least, this is what the manufacturer communicated after the warning.

This time it was the Volkswagen Group diagnose the problem by doing it yourself a reminder of the examples that were involved in this evil mistake. Things that happen in any case and that no brand can exclude a priori, especially if it collects millions of cars of all kinds every day. Let’s see if you also drive a car affected by the problem.

Audi, things go wrong: a recall is caused!

What happened in short? Those sensors to recognize their presence or not of the passenger in the seat next to the driver can work well. One little problem with the seat belt sensor? Even with thoughts! Due to this manufacturing defect, the passenger airbag cannot be deployed in the event of an accident, as the car does not recognize the presence of a person in that seat.

Audi Q7 SUV recall
Among the recalled models, several SUVs from the Audi brand (Audi Press Media) – Fuoristrada.it

There are a few cars affected by serious problems. We talk of various types of SUVs Q3, Q5, Q7, Q8 and A4 Allroad but also other cars such as A3, TT, RS5 and S5 and, last but not least, also 91 models of Q5. The cars in question were all built between January 2023 and November of the same year and released between last year and 2024, so if you drive a car on this list you may also receive a message from the German brand.

The brand is conducting extensive research to find out all models affected by the problem and promises that by May 31st all owners will have received the message no one wants to receive, the one inviting them to go to an authorized service center for a long and tedious repair. But free, at least!
