Maserati has postponed the launch of an electric version of its large Quattroporte sedan. The GranTurismo sports car and Grecale SUV will later hit the streets as fully electric vehicles. The Italians now confirm that they will “boldly push forward” the power supply of the traditional brand.

“Maserati believes more than ever in the electric mobility of the future and is currently aligning itself in all areas to improve its competitiveness and meet the needs of new luxury consumers,” the Modena company said in a statement.

An electric version of the GranTurismo will follow this year shortly after the petrol engine and battery-powered GranCabrio Folgore – all of the brand’s electric cars will have a suffix to their name that stands for “electric”. In 2025 the super sports car MC20 will also be offered in an electric version, in 2027 a new electric supercar and in 2028 the Quattroporte Folgore.

All of the brand’s new models will have electric drives and will combine “the design and performance characteristics typical of Maserati’s DNA,” it says. “Driven by our heart in Modena, we are working hard to lead the revolution in electrification. Two of our most popular models are already available as 100% electric versions and others will be launched later this year,” said CEO Davide Grasso.

Grasso continued: “We will offer our favorite customers the most powerful Maseratis ever, pushing the boundaries of driving pleasure into a new era. With our vision and long-term strategic plan, we aim to distinguish ourselves in the world of luxury with the exceptional quality of Italian manufacturing, continuing to increase quality and build our future with a dedicated business model that guarantees our customers quality products that reflect values. of the Trident Reflection.”

In Germany, the GranTurismo and Grecale have recently been available with only electric drive in the online configurator. Maserati is asking at least 198,212 euros for the four-seat competition GranTurismo as an electric car. The mid-range SUV Grecale costs at least 124,301 euros with battery power.
