Vanmoof will soon launch a high-performance electric scooter based on McLaren

It seems strange, but Vanmoof will sell electric scooters. This car is part of the new rebirth strategy of the Dutch brand, which almost disappeared. Bankrupt last summer, the company was bought by Lavoie, a subsidiary of McLaren Applied.

The most advanced automatic version

The first objectives were to rethink the manufacturing, distribution and relaunch sales of Vanmoof S5 and A5. Connected electric bikes have been available for a few days in Germany and in the Netherlands.

The Lavoie Series 1 focuses on refined design with integrated indicators, and practicality in the form of two articulated hands. So it can be folded in three – with a folding trunk – and reduce its storage space. However, transportation remains difficult, due to the weight of 18.5 to 19.5 kg. The latter is different, because there are two versions of different batteries (468 and 702 Wh), giving respectively 25 and 35 km of autonomy in high conditions.

How much, and when?
