Creativity is a must. How is Pomorskie changing? Smart Development Conference

Conference “Smart Expertise. Innovation. Smart Development. Where are we and where are we going in the VUCA world?” will be held in one week, June 13, 2022 at the Marshal’s Office of Pomorskie Voivodeship. Participation is free.

We focus on modernity

Innovation is progress, and progress is the future. The autonomy of the Pomeranian Voivodeship has been supporting the creative branches of the Pomeranian economy for many years. The Smart Specialty of Pomerania (ISP) is a reflection of these activities.

– Although these words seem difficult, they are actually about areas of the economy that have great potential for development. And innovation pays – explains Karolina Lipińska, deputy director of the Department of Economic Development of the Marshal’s Office. Not only entrepreneurs but also universities work within ISP. – And one of the ways to support the development of smart expertise and the creation of innovative ventures is the Smart Progres project. This support is used by universities, companies and commercial support institutions – says Lipińska.

And it is this project that will be presented to a special meeting of experts, which will be held on June 13, 2022.

Where we are and where we are going

The list of invited guests is long and the topics covered are related to many aspects of innovation. It will be discussed, among other things, if and how we are governed by algorithms? Dr. Maciej Kawecki, president of the Lem Institute, will try to answer this question. Representatives of individual voivodship governments will also come to Gdańsk: Lower Silesia, Warmia and Mazury, Podlasie and Greater Poland. It will be an opportunity to discuss the innovation experience of other regions.

– The meeting will be a unique opportunity to listen to the opinions of experts, but also to talk and reach conclusions. Let us remember that the future lies ahead in Smart Green Development – emphasizes Karolina Lipińska.

And Agnieszka Krasicka, representative of the Directorate General for Regional and Urban Policy of the European Commission, will speak about the cohesion policy of the European Union.

We will abbreviate ISP

The second part of the meeting will be devoted to an overview of the Smart Progres project. There will be figures, graphs, numbers, that is all that the project describes. But not everything.

– Leaders of all four ISPs will summarize the activities. We will show what we have been able to do and we will focus on what needs to be changed – emphasizes Lipińska.

Participation in the conference is free, but prior registration is required. Additional information is available on the website Marshal’s Office Economic Development Division.
