The new Cupra Born VZ with more power than ever arrives in France

With 435 hp, the MG4 X-Power surprised everyone. That a mainstream manufacturer is now able to offer a car with performance worthy of yesterday’s supercars on a Golf budget is still a remarkable development, more due to the image and the window than anything else. Those who want a characteristic with hyper tonic boosts in a compact electric now he will have an additional choice as Cupra launches the Born VZ with advanced figures: 545 Nm of torque available!

Cupra is particularly active at the moment as the Iberian brand had already lowered the prices of the Born range in line with the current European situation, in an increasingly competitive market. In the process, Cupra raises the curtain on the Born Veloz (VZ) which gets a full second from 0 to 100 km / h (5.7 seconds) thanks to the most powerful electric assembly now developing 325 hp and 545 Nm of torque.

Cupra has completely modified the Born with battery at the slightly increased capacity (79 kWh, autonomy declared for 570 km), a braking system that should offer a different feel, new shock absorbers, more direct steering and new anti-roll bars. The DCC-controlled suspension has also been modified.

Lots of visual details

In short, the Cupra is not pretentious and we also get a lot of visual signatures specific to this high-end variant: the exclusive Esterel Green color, special wide 20-inch rims, 3D inserts in bronze, Cup Bucket seats (which are already can be found on Formentor VZ5 and Cupra Leon VZ Cup), Born VZ is very different from other models. Note also the arrival of a new central touchscreen, larger than 12.9 inches.

At the moment, Cupra is not presenting the prices of the VZ version which should be more expensive than the €39,990 of the current Born XL. Orders will open in June only in France.
