Winter promises to be harsh in Europe, especially Belgium and even France. A few days before Christmas, CUPRA’s official driver, Jordi Gené, engaged in a ski session in Finland. At the controls of the powerful CUPRA Formentor VZ5, the Spaniard had a field day in Lapland.
In the SUV segment, the CUPRA Formentor VZ5 represents a version that is very similar and quite sporty. With 390 hp and 490 Nm of torque, from 5-cylinder 2.5 l turbo gasoline, SUV or, large crosstherefore it can adapt to the snow providing maximum comfort on the wheel while being very safe.
The pictures of the CUPRA Formentor VZ5 in the snow speak for themselves. Jordi Gené has therefore pushed the big Spanish crossover or SUV to the limit. To use 390 hp on ice, the Formentor VZ5 mainly has 4Drive all-wheel drive which is linked to a DSG7 gearbox. 4Drive technology represents a guarantee of efficiency and safety for those who will leave, in a few days with the family, for winter sports or, perhaps, to meet Santa Claus in Rovaniemi in Lapland. The same is true of the braking system which includes large brake discs (18 inches) and 375mm x 36mm six-piston calipers up front.
Within the CUPRA Formentor range, 4Drive all-wheel drive is available on other versions: Formentor V 2.0 l TSI DSG7 petrol (190 hp), Formentor VZ 2.0 l TSI DSG7 petrol (310 hp) and Formentor 2.0 l TDI DSG7 (150 150) . Below the photo, the 310 hp Formentor VZ “stands” in Paris.
Finally, the large CUPRA Formentor crossover also has two PHEV plug-in hybrid gasoline configurations: 1.4 l e-Hybrid DSG6 with 204 hp and 1.4 l e-Hybrid DSG6 with 245 hp.
