How much does a cheap Cupra Formentor cost? This price is a hit

The Spanish brand was certainly convinced that it would be successful, but … on such a scale and in a market like Poland? In summary of this year’s sales on the Vistula River Cupra Formentor regularly began to appear in the top ten sellers. We are very curious to know the preview for the whole year 2023. Will Formentor maintain its excellent form? Today we look at the basic version in the range, which is surprisingly user-friendly.

Cupra Formentor – dimensions, trunk

The Formentor is a completely new model, developed from scratch by the Spanish and reserved exclusively for Cupra. It is, of course, depending on the platform MQB Evo and uses blocks from the Volkswagen Group, but there is no direct equivalent there.

Cupra Formentor also avoids the division into SUVs and conventional body styles. It’s a crossover with many of the practical features of an SUV, a slightly coupe-like silhouette (practices are becoming more common) and plenty of hot hatch inspiration. It highlights the practical benefits of Formentor trunk with a capacity of 450 liters.

Cupra Formentor – price, competition

Cupra has significantly expanded its range by adding basic engines, which means that the Cupra Formentor can surprise with its price. The current Polish price list opens PLN 135,400 for a crossover with a four-cylinder engine 1.5 TSI with 150 HP and a six-speed manual gearbox. I must admit that this is a very attractive price. Especially now that standard city cars from segment B can cost around PLN 100,000.

In addition, the Cupra Formentor also performs well compared to competitors in its segment. In the broadly understood class of compact SUVs, South Korean models, Hyundai Tucson and Kia Sportage, have also recently become hits. Their prices start from more than PLN 120,000, so Formentor is not the most expensive, but it tempts with its attractive style and modern interior.

The Cupra Formentor is also available with this engine and a seven-speed DSG automatic transmission. The Cupra 1.5 TSI 150 HP DSG price list will open on January 1PLN 45,600.

Cupra Formentor 1.5 TSI – reviews. Does Formentor at PLN 135,400 make sense?

The Cupra Formentora range includes several different versions. There are powerful two-liter engines, engines straight from the Golf R, plug-in hybrids, and even a powerful five-cylinder unit straight from the Audi RS3. Is the base Formentor 1.5 TSI a good choice?? In our opinion, absolutely. This is an introduction to the Cupra world, but it’s not a model that should just look good on the price list.

For PLN 134,500 we get one heck of a practical crossoverwhich attracts attention on the road. The 150 horsepower engine provides adequate performance. Less than nine seconds to 100 km/h is enough for most drivers. We also know from experience that the 1.5 TSI can be very wallet friendly. The equipment also looks good. Sure you can spend a few thousand zlotys on extra packages and a few bells and whistles, but the basic Formentor has a lot to offer.
