Dacia reported 171,789 units sold in the first quarter of 2023, an increase of 34.3%. The brand recorded a share of 4.6% in the European market (passenger cars), which means an increase of 0.8 points, which is the highest increase among the TOP 30 brands.
Dacia Sandero received a total of 68,318 buyers, which means an increase of 26.1% compared to the same period last year. Sandero maintains its position as the number one car sold to private customers in Europe.
Dacia Dusterwith sales of 57,660 units, it grows by 23.9% compared to the first quarter of 2022 and maintains its position on the podium of consumer SUVs in Europe.
With 23,330 units sold in the first quarter, Dacia Jogger crosses the 80,000 mark since its launch.
Dacia Spring continues its momentum, with 14,494 units sold, maintaining its position on the podium of electric vehicles sold to private customers in Europe.
A growing market, Dacia is growing rapidly
In a market that has grown significantly, Dacia has increased its volume significantly and reached a record market share. In the first quarter of 2023, Dacia sold 171,789 units (passenger cars and light commercial vehicles), an increase of 34.3% compared to the same period last year.
Driven by the success of the new brand identity, Dacia significantly increased its share of the European passenger car market to 4.6%, an increase of 0.8 points, and achieved the highest growth among brands in the top 30.
France
In France, Dacia’s biggest market, the brand registered 38,938 vehicles in the first quarter, an increase of 32.6% over the same period last year. These results translate into an increase in market share by 1.2 points to 7.6% (PC+LCV). This is a new record in terms of volume and market share for Dacia, which confirms its third position in the French passenger car market, across all routes. Four models (Sandero in first place, Spring 4 and the market leader 100% electric, Duster 5 and Jogger 10) are in the top ten sales for private customers.
Italy
In Italy, the volume in the first three months was 25,142 units, an increase of 29.7%, with a market share of 5.3% (passenger cars + LCV), an increase of 0.2 points. For the first time, Dacia became the best-selling consumer brand with a market share of 9.6%.
Germany
Germany is also the biggest growth market for Dacia – 16,399 units, up 30.4%, and a market share of 2.2% (passenger cars + LCV), up 0.4 points. It was the second best quarter in the brand’s history on the German market.
Spain
The beginning of the year was marked by a significant increase in sales in Spain. With an increase of 140.1%, Dacia reached 11,650 units and a market share of 4.3% (PC+LCV), an increase of 1.7 points.
Romania
In Romania, all Dacia models are in the top five passenger cars. The brand recorded 13,651 units, an increase of 81% (PC+LCV), which gave it a market share of 33.1%, up 9.8 points compared to the same period last year.
A very good start to the year
In the first quarter, Dacia continued its momentum with the expansion of its electric range:
The Jogger HYBRID 140, Dacia’s first hybrid and the most affordable hybrid car on the market, accounts for around 25% of the order mix.
