VDL Special Vehicles in Eindhoven manufactures trucks based on purchased DAF trucks without engine block and gearbox. They will have a VDL electric train and fuel cells from Toyota.

Toyota Motor Europe wants to enter the market for hydrogen trucks in partnership with VDL. The trucks are used by Toyota for its transportation of vehicles, equipment and service parts within Europe. With this, the group wants to reduce its CO2 emissions. It wants to be CO2 neutral by 2040, it reports Eindhovens Dagblad.
