Milence: Daimler Truck, Traton and Volvo charging station in Sweden – electricity (e-mobility), charging infrastructure | Information | LOGISTRA

Milence, a joint venture between Daimler Truck, Traton Group and Volvo Group, announces its first payment center in Scandinavia. A charging station for electric commercial vehicles and buses is planned in Varberg, Sweden. Milence is committed to a CO2-free future for road transport2-production and is building Europe’s first large public charging network for commercial vehicles and buses.

An important strategic part of the equipment

At the end of last year, Milence opened a payment center in Venlo, the Netherlands. The company also wants to develop two charging stations with a total of thirty loading lanes for large commercial vehicles as well as the second largest port in Europe Antwerp-Bruges. With a charging hub in Sweden, Milence is now expanding its network to Scandinavia. Like all Milence charging stations, it will be open to trucks regardless of brand.

When expanding its network, Milence focuses on green road transport routes that connect key logistical points. The planned site is strategically located near a road exit in the municipality of Varberg, between Gothenburg and Malmö in south-west Sweden. The city is a popular hub for truck and truck drivers.

Development in two phases

For Milence, the charging hub in Varberg is an important step in the electrification of transport routes in Scandinavia. The new location also offers drivers rooms where they can relax. Living room with bathroom and toilets are arranged. The area therefore provides drivers with a smooth and holistic payment experience.

The development of the payment center in Varberg will take place in two phases:

  • In the first phase, the charging hub in Varberg will have eight charging lanes and four powerful CCS (Combined Charging Systems) chargers, each with up to a charging power of 400 kW. In addition to the characteristic arch of Milence, The company also builds special rooms for drivers.
  • In the second phase, more loading bays will be added. In addition to CCS systems, MCS (Megawatt Charging Systems – MCS) chargers will be installed as soon as fast and reliable charging technology becomes available.

Anja van Niersen, CEO of Milence, is enthusiastic: “Having already announced several locations in Western Europe, I am now happy to announce our first location in Scandinavia. The new charging hub is strategically located in an important logistics area in southwest Sweden, between Gothenburg and Malmö. This means that our plan to create high-performance green roads across Europe is gaining momentum. We want to expand our network to include several key areas in the coming year, some of which are already under development. Our charging stations are strategically located and open to trucks from all manufacturers.
