With the powerful Subaru Impreza WRX STi RA, a true rally legend is on its way to becoming one of the modern cars of tomorrow – of course with all-wheel drive, a boxer engine and 280 hp (206 kW).
Subaru Impreza WRX STi is not really an example of a car shortage. The modern car of tomorrow with a powerful scoop on the hood, which feeds air into a turbocharged boxer engine. A wide spoiler on the trunk cover not only provides low visual power. From 2002, the second generation of the Subaru roadster was also released in Europe for the first time. Until then, fans had to bring the fast Japanese into the country by other means – so there are still plenty of right-hand drive cars on the used car market today.
Of course, the appeal of the all-wheel-drive sedan is not just due to its military appearance. The four-cylinder turbo boxer under the hood inspires with venomous ferocity: from 4000 revolutions a burst of power kicks in, 280 hp (206 kW) and 373 Nm pounding their way onto the pavement through all four wheels as primary power. At speeds of 60 to 120 km/h, the WRX STi beats even super sports cars like the Lamborghini Diablo 6.0. Happiness becomes complete off the paved roads. Classic Cars runs the Subaru Impreza WRX STi Type RA
Designed for maximum neutrality, the all-wheel drive and direct steering constantly tempt you to drift with a targeted push of the accelerator. The Power Impreza proves impressively on any surface that its rally genes are more than the invention of some PR experts. The STi has technical improvements such as an invisible rotary wheel near the handbrake lever, which can be used to intervene in the torque distribution of the standard limited slip differential.
Another peculiarity: At the push of a button, the urinal can be sprayed with water to get more power from the four cylinders in about 15 seconds. A powerful pipe on the left side of the rear apron accompanies the fast ride with a louder roar every time. From year to year, Subaru has repeatedly sharpened the Impreza WRX STi and also modified its appearance. In addition, a variety of different special and smaller models were produced, so that today it is difficult to generalize due to the variety of variations.
