NFL: Rashee Rice of the Kansas City Chiefs was involved in a Lamborghini accident

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice faces felony charges after he and another sports car driver caused a chain reaction, Kansas police said Wednesday.

Police said arrest warrants were issued for Rice, 23, for one count of aggravated assault, one count of collision involving serious bodily injury and six counts of collision involving injury.

Rice’s attorney, Senator Royce West, said last week that Rice was driving a Lamborghini sports car when the accident occurred.

Arrest warrants on similar charges were also issued for Theodore Knox, 21, who was driving another sports car at a high rate of speed, a Corvette according to police.

Police said Rice and Knox are not in custody at this time.

Police say the drivers of the Corvette and Lamborghini were speeding in the left lane on March 31 when they lost control and the Lamborghini traveled onto the shoulder and hit the median, causing a chain reaction.

The crash involved a Lamborghini, a Corvette and four other vehicles and left four people with minor injuries, police said. Police said the drivers of the Corvette and Lamborghini left the scene after the crash.

According to Dallas’ WFAA-TV, the police report also said marijuana was found in both vehicles, along with credit cards, a $16,500 check, a diamond chain and a game guide.

Rice was renting a Lamborghini from The Classic Lifestyle, said Kyle Coker, an attorney for the Dallas-based exotic car rental company. West said the Corvette belonged to Rice.

Rice posted on her Instagram page last week that she took “full responsibility” for her role in the story.
