Mitsubishi Motors is readying a comprehensive overhaul of its Pajero Sport and Triton models for 2024, with both vehicles set to benefit from a hefty power boost as the brand seeks to challenge the dominance of Ford’s Everest and Toyota’s LandCruiser Prado.
The new models, which are due out in early 2024, will feature a reworked diesel engine that is expected to offer improved performance and efficiency. Mitsubishi has not yet revealed the specifics of the new powerplant, other than to say it will be a “modern diesel engine” that is “designed to meet the needs of today’s customers.”
The Pajero Sport and Triton are both based on the same platform, so it is likely that the engine upgrade will be shared across the two models. The engine upgrade is expected to bring a significant improvement in performance and fuel economy, with Mitsubishi promising a “substantial power increase” and improved efficiency.
The Pajero Sport and Triton will also benefit from a range of other updates, including a revised interior, new exterior styling, and improved on-road and off-road capabilities. The models will also feature a range of new safety and driver assistance systems, including automatic emergency braking and lane-keeping assist, as well as a suite of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS).
Mitsubishi is hoping the revisions to the Pajero Sport and Triton will help the brand to compete more effectively with the likes of the Ford Everest and Toyota LandCruiser Prado. The company is confident the new models will be able to offer customers a compelling alternative to its competitors, with a combination of upgraded power, improved efficiency, and advanced safety features.
Mitsubishi is set to unveil the all-new Pajero Sport and Triton models in early 2024, with the cars hitting the market later that year. The brand is expecting the new models to be a popular choice for customers, as they offer a combination of improved performance, efficiency, and safety, that should be able to challenge the dominance of the Ford Everest and Toyota LandCruiser Prado.
