Dacia ends sales in Turkey. What is the reason? | French.pl

Dacia will no longer be sold in Turkey. This is the result of a market reorganization initiated by the Renault parent group. What will replace the brand in this country?

Dacia withdraws from Turkey. As part of the Renaulution initiative, this country will come under the control of Renault and all cars that were previously sold with the Dacia logo will appear with a rhombus. This will be the case, among others, with the very popular Duster model. Turks love it with factory LPG drives, which are very popular there, and high sales and a stylish body shape mean the car is optional.

“Renault has been present in Turkey for 54 years with its strong and reliable partner Oyak. Since 1952, Renault and Oyak have jointly invested more than 2.5 billion euros, produced more than 7.5 million cars, and every seventh car in Turkey has a Renault logo. Our goal is to become the leader in the Turkish market, strengthen our brand with new products, establish a strong position, especially in the SUV segment, and implement an electrification strategy focused on hybrid and electric vehicles. Our goal is to transform our Bursa factory into a transportation hub, not only for Europe but also for the rest of the world,” added Fabrice Cambolive, CEO of Renault Global.

In Turkey, some Dacia models are produced and sold under the Renault logo:

“In the first phase, the Dacia Duster logo will be changed to Renault in Turkey. We already offer Sandero and some Spring models there, Logan is also sold in Turkey under the Taliant name and is assembled at the Oyak – Renault factory in Turkey). – explains Mihai Bordeanu, managing director of the Dacia brand for Southeast Europe and Head of Country Romania.

“Among the new cars to be manufactured in Bursa, three will be SUVs, including the Renault Duster. With these new products, Renault will further strengthen its leadership position in Turkey, offering a variety of products that meet the needs of customers in the B and C SUV segments,” added Jan Ptacek, current CEO of Renault Group Türkiye.
